Wether it is artificial or natural, there is always a light. There is always hope, even in the darkest days of our lives. When we least expect it, we meet a human being who ignites a light inside us. I have known a few of these ‘lantern lighters’ and I cherish them. Hence this ode to the lamplighters.
Of het nu kunstmatig of natuurlijk is, er is altijd wel een lichtje. Er is altijd hoop, zelfs in de donkerste dagen van ons leven. Wanneer we het het minst verwachten, ontmoeten we een mens die een lichtje in ons ontsteekt. Ik heb een paar van deze ‘lantaarnaanstekers’ gekend en ik koester ze. Vandaar deze ode aan de lantaarnaanstekers.
