I painted this when I was 16 and I’ve always kept it. As I had no formal training in oil painting, I had to teach myself. Copying Van Gogh has helped me tremendously. I changed one aspect, can you see it?
This painting has kept me company wherever I chose to live; it went with me through good times and bad times in England, Scotland, France, and of course in my own country The Netherlands.
In 1973 it was exhibited at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Bournemouth, UK, where I was working & studying to be an SRN.
